Workshops
I am also happy to facilitate one off, or occasional, workshops eg in a Community Group, Nursing Home, or Youth Organisation.
One of my great joys is running short online courses with DeafBlind Scotland. Knitting is so tactile and it is a privilege to work with these particpants.
Community Groups
Combating loneliness, reducing stress, enhancing self esteem: much has been documented about the health benefits of knitting. Community knitting groups can be an ideal way for knitters to enjoy their craft, as they socialise, share ideas with one another, and experiment with new techniques. I have had the privilege of facilitating knitting groups in a variety of community settings, including with DeafBlind Scotland, where both the face-to-face group for local members, and online group for those who live further away, have enabled me to share the joy of such a tactile activity.
